Neighborhood Impact Program Helps Homeowner with Repairs & Accessibility Upgrades

At CFCU, we believe that making a difference in the community starts at home. Through our partnership with the FHLBank of Indianapolis, we are proud to offer the Neighborhood Impact Program (NIP) to help qualified homeowners make much-needed home improvements. Recently, we had the pleasure of assisting Mike, a long-time resident and member, with upgrades that have transformed his home and improved his daily life. Through this program, Mike received a new walk-in shower โ€“ with grab bars and a shower chair to ensure his safety and comfort.

โ€œThis walk-in shower is a great addition for me,โ€ Mike shared. โ€œI no longer have worries when showering of tripping over my tub and causing an injury. Having the grab bars and shower chair are a huge upgrade. It has also saved me money because they fixed the plumbing that needed repairs.โ€

When asked what receiving the Neighborhood Impact Program grant meant to him, Mike responded, โ€œIt meant everything! Getting something that I have needed for years since becoming disabled and could not afford.โ€

Beyond safety, the repair team addressed plumbing issues that had been troubling him for years. The result was a safer, more functional bathroom with long-term cost savings.

The Neighborhood Impact Program (NIP), in partnership with the FHLBank of Indianapolis, provided qualified homeowners with up to $15,000 in funding for deferred maintenance repairs and accessibility modifications. Homeowners who met the program requirements received assistance for a wide range of repairs, including entry ramps, waterproofing, roof repairs, installation of ADA fixtures, and much more.

Weโ€™re grateful for the opportunity to provide members like Mike with the financial resources to live a more safe and comfortable life in their homes.

The Neighborhood Impact Program is closed for 2024. Christian Financial Plans to participate again in 2025.
